Neptune ehf continues to work towards accreditation for ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001. The company has been focusing on ISO 9001 and the safety standard 18001 as priorities to ensure that all personnel throughout the company focus on the safety of the day to day operations.
During the summer season of operations the procedures and policies required for OHSAS ISO 18001 have been steadily implemented on all the company vessels, offices and work areas. This has resulted in an excellent safety record for the year 2010 with zero accident rates and no recordable lost time incidents.
In the fourth quarter the company was audited by an external third party company, Marine Vocational Services Ltd, and Neptune received an exemplary report for progress made towards full accreditation of the OHSAS I8001 system. The audits completed by MVSL took place in the company offices in Iceland as well as on the company vessels offshore.
Captain Mike Vanstone the Operations director of MVSL Ltd stated:
“Neptune ehf has made significant and important progress towards the required ISO standard and it is very clear that safety and environmental considerations remain at the forefront of all operations they undertake”
Neptune ehf also remains in full compliance with the International Safety Management code (ISM) and received a number of external audits and inspections by MVSL at the same time in line with the requirements of these international quality management regulations
